THE STORY
The Yorkwood range is a beautiful example of the Ceramica Sant’Agostino creative process. Yorkwood explores the dream of unhurried, gentle Manor House living in the English countryside, and pays homage to the nobility of English oak. It is a soulful mix of understated elegance and the glorious imperfections that give richly grained oak its inimitable personality. The Yorkwood range distils the essence of oak timber that has lived and been loved for centuries. Rather like the bucolic life it represents, Yorkwood brings a relaxed, “lived-in” character to both traditional and contemporary spaces, as well as a strong connection to nature. Yorkwood encompasses both grandeur and simplicity, refinement and rusticity, romance and functionality. The resulting aesthetic speaks a diverse style language that is always inviting, warm, playful and welcoming.
THE MAKING
Rectified: Yorkwood is a rectified tile which has been mechanically cut to achieve a straight, precision edge. The resultant consistency of dimension guarantees a set of tiles that are the exact same size and shape. These uniformly machined edges allow for tight grout joints and a thin grout line, around 1.5 mm. The result is a continuous and uniform appearance that creates a sleek, modern finish.
Faces: Faces: The Yorkwood Range offers 60 unique faces, each one with subtly different wood grain patterns and imperfections. A Yorkwood installation will offer minimal pattern repetition, to deliver an extremely realistic effect. Yorkwood Décor Classic 01 and 02 offer only 12 faces. Due to this highly patterned surface, fewer unique faces are required, to enhance the pattern repetition. Both the wood and wood/travertine options are further enhanced by DigitalPlus technology.
DigitalPlus Technology: Unique to Ceramica Sant’Agostino, DigitalPlus delivers high- definition printing to enable astonishingly authentic colours and graphics. This realism is elevated by Carve3D technology.
Carve3D Technology: Sant’Agostino’s remarkable technology applies grooving and sinking glazes to create “movement”. This process achieves an overall effect of dynamism and a three-dimensional textural quality with both eye appeal and touchability.
Eco-Chic: The Yorkwood Signature Range has a strong sustainability story. The Ceramica Sant’Agostino tradition of EcoQuality guarantees a raft of impeccable sustainability credentials. The range has LEED Certification: this answers the requirement for the use of more than 20% recycled materials, as well as zero toxic substance release, and a factory environment with strict environmental management systems. Ceramica Sant’Agostino is a member of the Green Building Council Italia, which is the body responsible for drafting the LEED Italia protocols. Sant’Agostino also meets EnvironmenTile requirements for sustainability and complies with the UNI-Continuality Mark and the CEN-KEYMARK. Together, these approvals certify that the Yorkwood range has been manufactured with the lowest possible environmental impact achievable using the world’s latest technological knowledge.
THE RANGE
Yorkwood is a Signature Range, exclusive to Italtile. The range comprises a 300 x 1800 glazed rectified porcelain oakwood-look tile suitable for floors and walls, with a harmonising 900 x 900 glazed rectified porcelain intarsia-style décor tile. Both offerings have a rating of R10, which denotes a level of slip resistance under normal circumstances; however Italtile does not recommend use in outdoor areas where moisture is a factor. The Yorkwood range will bring relaxed Country House elegance to both traditional and contemporary interior spaces.
Yorkwood 300 x 1800: Both elegant and rustic, this plank-style tile carries the marks of artisan craftsmanship and the passage of time. Yorkwood is wider and longer than most wood-look porcelain tiles (Italtile’s longest “timber” look to date). Available in Natural (with a raw, unstained character); Walnut (a mid-brown tone); and Brown (a more traditional, rich tone).

Yorkwood Décor Classic 01 and 02, 900 x 900: A playful dance of diagonals, starring oak and travertine looks. This unique décor tile was inspired by the exquisitely intricate Versailles wood parquetry and the skilful Italian wood and marble Intarsia work that was such a feature of the gracious country retreats of the nobility of England and Europe. Yorkwood Classic 01 offers contrast with a darker brown wood look, designed to play a lead role on a mood board, while Yorkwood Classic 02 delivers a softer combination of neutrals with a paler wood look against the travertine.
