Italtile Joins The Little Optimist To Bring Beautiful Living To Heideveld Baptist Church Youth Centre.
The great people of The Little Optimist Trust have garnered well-deserved accolades for the extraordinary work they do to motivate and empower at-risk youth through the lessons learnt at the tiller of the little boats. However, the organisation’s “keeping hope afloat” motto also refers to the spirit of their outreach work on land.
For many years, The Little Optimist volunteers, under the unstoppable Greg Bertish, have been assisting Pastor Vernon of Heideveld Baptist Church with his youth centre activities. The centre was in dire need of a massive upgrade: the bathroom facilities required urgent attention. The Little Optimist reached out to Italtile in July 2024 for assistance with the rebuild.
Italtile provided tiles for a total of 48 square metres of wall, two square metres of shower floor and ten square metres of bathroom floor, along with two basins, two toilets and two shower screens. Italtile Limited, through their Foundation, contributed to labour costs.
Many sleeves were rolled up to assist, and by October 2024, the Heideveld Baptist Church Youth Centre remodel was complete, offering youth and youth workers smart, modern bathrooms with freshly painted walls, premium quality bathroom tiles and top tier sanware. All products selected offer a guarantee of durability, and their lasting good looks create an elevated and dignified space. As Martin Luther King said: “When it comes to human dignity, we cannot make compromises”.
