Italtile Boksburg Moves Into All-New Flagship Showroom

June 27, 2022

Italtile is thrilled to announce the keenly-awaited opening of the latest in a string of new-look showrooms – Italtile Boksburg – which is moving from its longstanding premises at the corner of Jan Smuts and Loizides Avenue in Bardene, Boksburg to the corner of North Rand and Trichardts Roads in Beyers Park.

Launch weekend from 23 June 2022. Doors will open in grand style with the exciting Hot Promotion, which will see a specially curated selection of Italtile’s signature eco-chic style marked up to 40% off for a limited time. The on-promo collection includes both high-fashion trending items and timeless classics: top quality local and imported tiles, taps, bathroom furniture and bathroom accessories for sale.

Construction during challenging times. Although construction began in May 2021, the project kicked off back in May 2019 around the planning table, with the collaboration of Allmuss Properties, BouwArch Architects and project managers M&F Giuricich. The processes were hampered by severe setbacks caused by the impact of the Covid-19 virus in March 2020; one of which was the tragic loss of Mr Schalk van der Merwe, owner of Prism Architects and D3 Prism Architects, who succumbed to the virus. Mr van der Merwe had been closely involved with The Italtile Group for over 20 years, developing showroom design for both the Italtile and CTM brands.

Biophilic design and a future-facing eco-focus underpin the new Italtile Boksburg’s LiveGreen ethos. Italtile Boksburg’s new showroom pays homage to Italtile’s LiveGreen aesthetic in a number of smart ways. The materials of demolished structures were crushed on site and incorporated in layer work, while local building materials were sourced to minimise the carbon footprint during construction.

The design and build team were mindful of the local community, and sourced both labour and sub-contractors from the great Boksburg area to boost the local economy.

The store design is biophilic in nature, featuring natural light, the incorporation of a rainwater harvesting system, natural building materials and landscaped spaces that are created to soften the ‘hardscape’ of a traditional showroom design. The optimal natural light was achieved with the development of a double-layered north facing translucent façade – which is a first for an Italtile showroom. The rich organic grain of wood looks further softens the interior and creates a warmly welcoming and calming environment to optimise the Italtile customer experience.

A positive growth mindset. The move to new premises is yet another exemplar of Italtile’s powerfully positive growth in extremely challenging times. It comes hot on the heels of the introduction of two highly successful new showrooms, both of which are new-look concept stores; one being an all-new showroom in George (the first of its kind in a strip mall as opposed to the traditional standalone Italtile store, bringing high-end Italtile style to mall shoppers), and the other being the magnificent remodel and refurbishment of the Umhlanga showroom.
