Introducing the Oxidart Tile Collection by Ceramica Sant’Agostino.

October 9, 2023

A Daring Interpretation of Metal Grown Beautiful with Age.

The rise of the contemporary Metallic Tile Trend has brought some incredible surface effects to light in recent months, showcasing brilliant interpretations of this most fascinating material; but none so compellingly authentic or powerful as Ceramica Sant’Agostino’s Oxidart Porcelain Tile Range, Italtile’s exclusive new addition to their Metallic Tile Collection.

Years of experimentation with sheet metal, transformative chemicals and exposure to natural elements have culminated in the development of Oxidart. A range that showcases the art and science of ‘softening’ the iron heart of metal and revealing the passage of time in an effect that is both honest and sophisticated, to elevate contemporary urban or minimalist spaces. Oxidart appears to carry the scars of an endless battle with the harshest elements – magnificently mottled, dripped, streaked, and etched – a unique corrosive look that radiates out towards the edges of the tile.

This highly realistic porcelain story of wear and oxidisation is, ironically, extremely resistant to the elements, as well as wear and tear, thanks to the use of specialist enamels developed in the Sant’Agostino laboratories, along with the application of some of today’s most innovative and advanced technologies.

Oxidart, a high-quality porcelain tile, is available in 600 x 1200mm. As a rectified large format tile, edges are uniform and meticulously square, thanks to precision machine cutting. This uniformity allows for tight grout joints (1,5mm or less), creating a sleek modern look and seamless, continuous flow that dramatically opens any space – on both floors and walls.

The range features dark and theatrical Oxidart Black and lighter Oxidart Iron. Both feature rich, rust-toned mottling. Both colours in the range offer 40 faces. (The number of faces refers to how many different patterns are printed on the tiles. So, with 40 individual graphic interpretations, you are assured a truly random, varianced and hyper realistic look, with minimal repetition.

As with all Italtile’s exclusive Sant’Agostino tile ranges, Oxidart offers certified sustainability, with Sant’Agostino’s signature EcoQuality. Consequently, Oxidart carries Italtile’s LiveGreen label.
