House Springolo Elevated with Layers of Warm Minimalism to Offer Simplicity and Comfort.

“Minimalism is not a lack of something. It is simply the perfect amount of something” – Nicholas Burroughs, Designer.

There’s a very fine line between comfort and austerity when curating a minimalist space and the trick is to avoid extremism when putting together your mood boards. It’s a process of “identifying everything you need and nothing you don’t”.

Happiness lies in the beautiful middle – Warm Minimalism – a design concept Italtile North Riding investigated with the Springolo family when mapping out three new bathrooms. We’ve been hooked on the ideals of Warm Minimalism long before it became a 2024 trend. We love how it promotes a sleek, clean silhouette, layering texture upon texture, building a richly tonal neutral palette, with the addition of luxurious touches to create comfortable and welcoming spaces.

While each bathroom required its own imaginative signature, Italtile Northriding assisted with the curation of a textural trinity to link the stories of the three bathrooms: oxidised metal; reclaimed and worn wood; varianced cement screed.

Master Bathroom. Our exclusive Nox Pearl 900 x 900mm, a limited-edition Spanish rectified matt glazed porcelain tile, makes a powerful statement with its intriguing patina of oxidised metal, as does the ultra-modern Fumo shower screen with its sleek, unobtrusive lines. The luxurious Scarlet Bath by Divina (Italtile’s own brand house) brings softness to the industrial edge of the metallic canvas with its elegant curves. A beautiful marriage of masculine and feminine cues delivers a strong yet graceful aesthetic.

The Second Bathroom sees a blend of the sun-bleached “beach house” wood looks of Ampezzo Whitewashed 220 x 895mm and Spazio Gris 600 x 600mm, a subtly varianced cement screed look. Together, they create a stress-busting canvas of softer neutrals.

The Third Bathroom brings together the subtly mottled cement screed looks of Spazio White 600 x 600mm and the unique second-life aesthetic of ColorArt Bone 150 x 1200mm by Ceramica Sant’Agostino, with its burnt, blistered, painted effects resonant of reclaimed timber.

Italtile Northriding’s Tendai had oversight of the project from the ground up, paying attention to the fundamentals, and guiding the Springolo family to invest in the very best essentials designed to offer lasting value. The result? Three spa-style sanctuaries redolent of Warm Minimalism, that optimise simplicity, style, aesthetics, and functionality... and get the balance of simplicity and comfort just right.

All finishes selected from Italtile Northriding, both local and imported, are exclusive to Italtile and carry Italtile’s LiveGreen label for sustainability.
