Italtile Commercial | Loftus Park

July 18, 2018

Loftus Park. The power of a like-minded partnership.

At the epicentre of Arcadia in Pretoria, directly behind Loftus Versveld stadium, rises the dynamic new 55 000 m2 Loftus Park; designed and built not only to ignite the growth of the greater area around it but also to lead the way in mindful community development.

The developers and architects envisioned a mixed-use urban space that supports and encourages a healthy, work/life balance, and to this end, looked for partners who could provide smart, sustainable solutions. The completion of Phase One has already elevated the development to a Green Star building with a prestigious 4-star rating, thanks to features that include a greywater system, sanitaryware that is made through sustainable manufacturing, taps that are both water saving and energy efficient, and green tiles.

Loftus Park is also prepared for emergencies, with a 48-hour water supply as well as backup generators; safety measures that will ensure continuous, uninterrupted workflow.

The precinct has office space of around 15 000 m2 with 631 parking bays. Smart technology offers a ticketless parking system for ease of use.

The area is so large that it warrants a hotel to service the precinct and surrounding areas – Protea Hotel has opened its doors to host to the guests and business people of the area.

The guest bathrooms throughout feature high-end finishes and sanitaryware, as do all the guest toilet facilities. Both the regular toilets as well as the WC for the physically challenged have been fitted with trusted international brands, including Laufen, Idral, and Franke; all renowned for top quality, mindful manufacture.

Of particular note is the eye-catching tiling, a combination of sleek and textured surfaces with complementary tones to create a striking and contemporary look. All were chosen for their anti-slip finish to increase safety in certain areas of the building where slipping could be a concern.

Specialist Consultant Catherine Brown from Italtile Commercial was in charge of these elements of the project.

Italtile Commercial is proud to be a part of the green team, partnering with Abland, Studio 3 Design House and WHBO, a special bunch of people who share the same philosophy: to live beautifully means to live sustainably.
